Not a long drive to Myrtle Beach. We did drive through Jacksonville, NC, which to my surprise, is where Camp Lejune is located. All along the highway, there were homemade signs welcoming home individual marines; they went for miles. Very touching to see this. I hope they all came home.
South and west to Wilmington, NC and then on to Myrtle Beach. The road leading into MB had more stores with neon lights than I have seen in awhile. Interesting that there were pawn shops next to miniature golf next to gentleman's clubs next to and interspersed with beach apparel stores, bingo parlors and fish restaurants. Also golf shoe, golf ball, golf anything stores.
This evening we are hunkering down because of the bad weather. It started raining here, with lightening and thunder. Farther west they have a tornado warning.
