You can tell that there is weather brewing. The radio station we were listening to said severe thunderstorms for the late afternoon with tornado warnings. We are 60 miles south of Jacksonville so we hope we miss that mess.
Today was Daytona Beach day. We passed the race track-it was enormous. Farther down the road we came to the beach which made this place famous for me. And lo and behold, you can drive right on the beach, park, set up and stay for the day. We parked and walked down the beach and back to the van. We dug out our beach chairs and set up, enjoying the warm day (first day I have really felt hot since leaving Pennsylvania). We had lunch from the beach vendors and marveled at the passing parade.

After lunch we packed up and set off for the Ponce De Leon Lighthouse. This is the second tallest lighthouse in the U. S. after Cape Hatteras. Mike climbed to the top and I waited down below. It was a beautiful spot.
We drove back to the camp ground to await the crummy weather. Fired up the a.c. in the trailer; it worked just fine.
The light house looks like Corolla, but more tropical--and I have to ask, how long did you wrestle with those chairs this time around?? haha!!
